Receipts (Cash In) — Recording Money Received
The Receipts section tracks money entering your business that is NOT tied to a sales invoice — such as advance payments, bank interest, refunds from vendors, or any other non-sales income.
Note: Customer payments against invoices are recorded under Sales → Invoices → Record Payment. This section is for other cash inflows.
What Goes Here?
- Advance payment received from a customer before an invoice is created
- Bank interest credited to your account
- GST refund received from the government
- Vendor refund or credit received in cash
- Any miscellaneous business income

- Later, when you create the invoice, deduct the advance from the invoice total.
